To the next pub, The Vat And Fiddle. They had an amazing range of real ales in here, and we worked our way through half after half. I think they had eleven on hand pumps, which is unheard of. Not sure we enjoyed any of them quite as much as the Burton On Trent beers, but this was a great spot to sit for most of the afternoon. I got some food in here, just a couple of side dishes, but they were very generous and very cheap. One was bread and hummus and olives and one was cauliflwer "wings", so deep friend cauliflower in spices with barbecue sauce in the style you might have chicke wings I suppose. Very vegan friendly place.
All the places we went to would be full of people going to the Iron Maiden gig. In this one I saw someone with a Love / Hate logo painted on his leather jacket. Not seen this sort of thing for thirty years, and I'm wondering if it's exactly the same person I would have seen at the gigs in those days.
Here the bar person told us that if there's a rock gig going on, then the place to be is the Tap And Tumbler, and we should definitely go there. So we headed vaguely in that direction, but via another recommended pub.
