We weren't holding out much hope for the Tap And Tumbler, but thought we'd at least check in. The person recommending it was young and not an ale drinker, so had nothing to say about real ale there, just the music and the liveliness of it. But it was great, we had a good choice of real ales, and it was a fully dedicated heavy metal pub. We sat and found our mojo again and enjoyed ourselves, and then as it started to empty out (people heading to the gig early) we went round to the standing up bit where we could hear the music better. A great pub, and it looks like they have gigs of their own in there. Were we the last ones standing who were going to the gig? Possibly...
