Blog2023 ≫ This could be interesting

Justdropped the beetle down by the school for a quick getaway in the morning. Just squeezed into a gap where they were closing the road. Now I've got out of the car and realized there are cones along most of the road because they're resurfacing it. But now both ends of the road are closed. I can't get the beetle out again. Am I going to find it covered in tarmac in the morning?

An empty looking Seabrook Road

Before this potential disaster I did Couch To 5k with T1. He's on to week six, run five minutes, walk three, run five, walk three, run five. He was slow and whingey until he got fed up with me telling him this and then he was off like a hare to get away from me.

Later we had curry for tea, I did some jobs and then watched a Black Mirror after they had all gone to bed (and after I should have gone to bed). I'm watching series six in reverse order, as recommended by a thing I read. It really feels like sticking two fingers up to Netflix which is an interesting move.

Think I have a plan for Saturday now. Have booked a 10am train in the morning, which means I can do parkrun, but I cannot volunteer. T1 is volunteering, but I have to leave him there and he'll get the bus back.

Before all this I have commuting to London in the morning, which is why I dropped the car down the road, which is where we came in. T2 has a last minute football thing up at Three Hills sports centre. He doesn't like football but he does like the sound of an afternoon out of school. Then we have Friday, where he has sports day and we possibly can see the new Indiana Jones film in the evening. No pub Friday night I think because plenty of pub Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Oh, and now Wednesday.

One more thing, I have lost my phone. It seems like it's still in the house but I can't make it make a noise to find it because everyone is in bed. By the time they get up it could have a flat battery. I think I used it to programme the tumble dryer, just thought of that, so I will check there. And then to bed.

5k: Five km, about three miles in old money.
