Blog2023 ≫ have I posted more about beer than I have about fitness this week?

I'm going to have to go some to talk about any one particular topic more than the topics that are in my automated posts that appear every day. I'd have to post on average more than once a day about beer for it to overtake step count or fat. But it looked briefly today as if I'd done that. This is the top ten as I see it right now:

  1. ⬆️ fat
  2. ⬆️ step count
  3. ⬆️ beer
  4. ⬆️ hythe
  5. ⤴️ glastonbury
  6. ⬆️ sandgate
  7. ⬆️ running
  8. ⬆️ exercise
  9. ↔️ 5k
  10. ⬇️ school

Now that might well be different to this live generated equivalent:

  1. ⬆️ work
  2. ⬆️ glastonbury
  3. ⬆️ festival
  4. ⬇️ weather
  5. ⬇️ exercise
  6. ⬇️ running
  7. ⬆️ christmas
  8. ⤴️ ill
  9. ⬇️ parkrun
  10. ⬆️ tesco

In fact I think it will look different even today. I'm going to make a change to this chart, a change the rules for it, much like the real top of the pops type chart changed to include streaming. What if I say a tag in an automated post only counts for 1/10th of an actual mention? Going to go with that and see what it does. Fat, exercise, step count, you're probably going to disappear from the top ten. Unless I keep mentioning them like I have done here.

Right so if I say one tag in a "real" post is worth five tags in automated pos then it looks like this:

  1. ⬆️ beer
  2. ⤴️ glastonbury
  3. ⬆️ hythe
  4. ⬆️ sandgate
  5. ⬆️ running
  6. ⬆️ 5k
  7. ⬇️ school
  8. ⬆️ exercise
  9. ⬆️ fat
  10. ⤴️ elton john

Looks about right for what I mostly talk about, mostly beer. A couple of topical guest entries in there being Glastonbury and Elton John, who we are waiting to appear now on the TV. The boys are not that enamoured of our plan to watch Glastonbury on TV for the third night in a row. The philistines.

Back to beer for a second though 1) I just remembered I bought a locally brewed beer in Dover earlier today and 2) why is the phrase real ale not one of my tags here? It should be, but something is making it disappear and I'm not suere what. Time to dive into the code again12.

5k: Five km, just over three miles to you.
