T1 had to run parkrun this week, as there was no volunteer role for him. He wasn't pleased with this, he still can't run 5km. His cousin was also in the same boat, so I ran with them both, trying to gee them along. They had to stop and walk for short bursts, but not as much as last time.

Congratulations on completing your 126th parkrun and your 114th at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 283rd place and were the 172nd Male out of a field of 367 parkrunners and you came 20th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:23:24.
After we went looking for Prime, as we had to go in Sainsbury's anyway. They had none but the cousin had seen some in Morrison's so we went there too. None on display but he had an idea that kids come in, aren't allowed to buy it, hide some somewhere in the shop for their parentst to come back in and buy later. And it worked. He found one can, I bought it, and the boys shared it later.
After T2 and I went in to Canterbury. He needed shoes for school. We found them quickly enough. Was quiet in the shoe shop, not many people buying new school shoes this close to the end of the year. Next to The Lady Luck for dinner. I picked it because there is an old school arcade machine that is free to play and thought that would entertain him. Our food was also good though, he had a burger with beef chilli in it, very sloppy, and I had a Rick And Morty baguette. Vegan chicken in barbecue sauce with fried pickles. Not our healthiest meal ever but tasty. They had a good beer on from Brew York called Calmer Chameleon. Shame I was driving, I could only have a half.
On the way back it was still very hot and we were thirsty. We passed the back garden of The White Hart1 near where we'd parked the car2 - I didn't even know they had a back garden - and T2 suggested we stop there. Yes really, not me dragging him into a pub. It's a surprisingly nice place. It is a Shepherd Neame, but I had to go alchohol free anyway and got a terrible fake fruity cider. Still a nice spot to sit.
We came home and watched more Star Wars related things. Another Mandolorian, and we started the Obi Wan Kenobi series, both good.
Massive thunder and lightning storm in the night.
5k: Five kilometres, just over three miles to you.
