Wednesday night we went out for dinner to The Waterfront in Hythe. I took a fast walk there so I could stop in a pub on the way. Thought it had to be The Three Mariners rather than The Potting Shed just for closeness, but in the end I went even closer, to The Hope. And it was good. A real feeling of airbnb holiday makers arbout the place. It was filling up as I sat there, and the smells from the noodle were making me want to stay there to eat. But no, one quick pint and back to meet the family.
I only usually notice The Waterfront when it's a lovely weekend and it's overflowing, but it wasn't so busy on a Wednesday evening. We had managed to get the table right at the front, so best view out across the beach. Food and drinks were good, service also good, the setting is the best thing about the place though. We went all in with cocktails, wine, starters, and ordering of the adult menu for the boys. They even went for puddings. I had the only vegan main course on the menu which is a burger, but the others ate a bit fancier.
We walked and scooted home, and then I sat up and watched Goodfellas, as I had the next day off. Lovely.
