Blog2023 ≫ Even slower parkrun

Can probably blame the many pints in the Potting Shed last night for a poor parkrun performance, but also it was very busy. See over 400 runners! Don't think I've seen it that busy before. Anyway, Potting Shed yesterday, very nice. Very busy day at work so I as itching to get away. Clare called to let me know she was nearly home, and was not going out with workmates after all. Met my friend and walked there for about quarter past five. Had a great time, lots of chat with friends old and new, and then salad pitta and chips on the way home.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #384. Your time was 00:25:32.

Congratulations on completing your 122nd parkrun and your 110th at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 110th place and were the 91st Male out of a field of 401 parkrunners and you came 14th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:23:24.

T1 volunteered again, he had to do the first timers briefing. He was not looking forward to this, it means gathering new people together with the megaphone and then reading out some details about Folkestone parkrun. He did really well though.

After we got in we went to Canterbury, mostly to get him some new clothes. We had lunch in Wagamama but it was only OK today. I seem to have lost my sense of taste a little bit, or it wasn't that tasty. I have no other symptoms though, can't be covid. I did go in HMV and looked at records, quite fancied a Weezer album but it was £38. New vinyl is so expensive. I have not played both sides of my Under Neath What yet that I bought on pay day, so will get some more value out of that first, even though it's a very familiar album.

Eurovision tonight. We planned to get various different Euro-snacks and drinks, but I have ended up with dirty fries which I will be doing in the Ninja cooker. Air-fried chips with toppings of salsa, guacamole, and vegan cheese. Also got some bang bang cauliflower mini sausage rolls, the boys and Clare got some other bits but nothing particularly European. T2 is making some mini pizzas, that's as close as we get. Even the wine is from New Zealand and Australia.

I have someone coming to clear the gutters on Monday.
