Blog2023 ≫ Feel like I'm just biding my time

Just seeing the week out, sort of waiting for pay day, even though I'm still well in credit this month. It can't be just the not drinking that means I am so far in credit this month can it? I still feel like I have some things I want to buy, things to spend money on, and I should wait for pay day for that. Also of course waiting for this share money to come in. No idea when it will happen. Every time my phone buzzes I check it thinking it might be an alert from the bank about an unusual credit. I think this Friday was the deadline for filling in the forms, so maybe Monday will be the pay day.

Also waiting for tomorrow of course, the start of February, the start of Febrewery, the end of Dryanuary, the end of Runuary. I did a simple 5k around Hythe today, following my longer and hillier 10km of yesterday. One more I have to do to meet this pointless target, then it's just running for fun after that.

Has hardly felt like living for most of this month, just seeing it through really. Last night I was in bed by half eight, tonight it's an exciting 9pm. Not much point in sitting up on my own.

Just going to check that banking app one more time.

I was at a Cooper Temple Clause gig twenty-two years ago today in 2001, one of their earlier ones, at the Barfly. I really liked them, for quite a short period.

5k: Five kilometres, about three miles in old money.

10k: Ten kilometres, about six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step-count target.

dryanuary: Not drinking for all of January.

runuary: Running probably 5k every day for the month of January.
