Blog2022 ≫ Some different spins on the "end of religion" story

I saw the BBC being very balanced with the new census data showing the number of people identifying as christian has falling, some saying "below 50% for the first time" and some saying "nearly half of people still christian". Someone on thought for the day this morning was saying "saying you're christian doesn't make you christian, ticking a box doesn't make you christian, but helping people out does". No, you can't claim just "good people" in your religious numbers, you can only have the people who do the religious admin, that includes saying you are religious, ticking the box on the census that says you are religious. Those numbers are falling, which shows that the influence religion has over all our lives (including bishops in the house of lords and the free slot religion gets every day on my radio) needs to be on its way out too.

Don't even get me started on the "these days white people are minority!!!" paranoid racist nonsense either.
