Blog2022 ≫ Insane busy at work but the end is in sight

Work busy again, I keep getting called into things, but at least yesterday everything I touched did turn to gold in the end. I'm just about done with my project work, on time, though it will not go live on time as we can't sort out a network security thing in time. Not my job to do, though I could have got it scheduled in earlier if I'd thought about it. I can take days off next week in half term though, so I will.

Back to parkrun again, my ninety-ninth. This means my 100th will not be at my home parkrun. Not that I know many people there, didn't speak to anyone there today apart from a hello to a teacher at T1's school and a "thankyou marshall" to the volunteers, but I think the organisers must keep an eye on milestones of regular runners. So next week they will say "is Paul Clarke here?" and I will not be there. My 100th will likely be in Fareham, where I will know no-one, and they won't be expecting me, so I won't get a shout out. It's not about the glory though and I still qualify for a new parkrun running top with 100 on the back. I ran better today, the conditions were much better, still not fast though.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #355. Your time was 00:24:25.

Congratulations on completing your 99th parkrun and your 89th at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 60th place and were the 50th Male out of a field of 282 parkrunners and you came 13th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:21:36.

My step count has been shocking this week, not been able to go out because so busy. Actually Thursday night we all went out, after work we walked down to Sandgate, had one in the Inn Doors and then a lovely curry in Green Spice. The boys enjoyed it all, we must do this again. Then last night after work I went to the Inn Doors again, then back in time for the revival of Friday Night Live on Channel 4, very good. A mix of old faces from the same show THIRTY years ago, but good new comedians too.

Gigiversaries, there were a load for yesterday that I missed, but this day twenty-seven years ago I was at Carter USM, in 2003 it was The Darkness, in 2004 it was Goldie Lookin' Chain. Right up to modern times we saw Jon Richardson in Folkestone in 2016, but a pleasingly round twenty years ago it was The Electric Six. Danger! High Voltage!

Clare has gone to work, the boys are round Grandpa's. I was going to do some electrical DIY, but I bumped into a friend in Tesco earlier and have decided to go to the Clarendon for an hour or two instead. A few jobs to do first, and maybe a sit and listen to records. Then pub, then back here for pizza for tea. The good life!
