Blog2022 ≫ Happy 15% off day

Happy pay day everyone! Oh, it's not your pay day? Our pay day is on an odd day, it's not even calendar-monthly.

Just thought of a thing that annoys me, there's a guard / announcer on the train who always says "there are four working toilets". There's a spare adjective in there I think. Do point out that there's a toilet that's not working, but it should be a given that if there is a toilet it is a working toilet. This is hot on the tail of a previous annoyance when all the estate agents giving valuations on Homes Under The Hammer all say "a valuation of £x per calendar month". Like what other kind of month might we be confusing that with? Though admittably1 I have used another kind of month there for my pay day, we get paid four weekly, but do we really need that clarification every time on there? No-one is basing a contract on this "oh wait I invested in this property because I thought I'd get £1000 every lunar month but it's actually ever calendar month, you were not clear and now I'm out of pocket". Ridiculous.

Also ridiculous, I went to Tesco at lunch, and because of this backlog at Dover all the streets round here are also gridlocked. I saw a huge queue of cars heading down Hospital Hill when I went out, and should have reversed back to the house at this point, but it was clear up the hill, so carried on. Then there was no way back. All the streets all around are gridlocked, I had to abandon the car and walk. I made it home an hour and a half later. I think it's clearing now, but it's been insane.

Busy day at work apart from that, time for the Inn Doors now for a well deserved beer.
