Blog2022 ≫ Close "run" thing

Just looking up the timetable for my coach to London on the 30th1, to see if I can get to a parkrun in time. Hoping so as I remember one of the places it stops is Lewisham, and there is a Lewisham parkrun2. Anyway, search for that day, and all the coaches from Folkestone are now SOLD OUT! I nearly missed out on being able to get to London at all. What would the plan have been after that? Drive up to the outskirts of London I suppose.

I do have a ticket for the coach but was too mean to pay the extra two quid to reserve a seat, wonder if I'll be standing? OK even I'm not too mean to pay two quid, but I didn't want any conflict if someone is sat in my seat. What if it's an old person? What if I'm sat there and an old person gets on? The only seats you could reserve were at the front, and that's just where someone would be standing, deserving the seat more than me.

I still didn't find out if I can get to Lewisham parkrun, with all that excitement, so checking now. Plenty of time! Selected stops on the route:

Folkestone isn't even the first stop, some people will be getting on a Dover, but hopefully the bus won't be full from there, so I should get a place. Maybe I can have a snooze even. Earplugs for sure.

That's going to be a long time to be on a bus, but at least getting off at Lewisham breaks it up a bit. Then plenty of time to get to parkrun. I'm going to have to travel light, run with my stuff, and then figure out where I can have a shower after3... then also carry my running stuff around for the day. It'll be fine! Maybe I can even direct the party through Kings Cross and drop my stuff off in my hotel at some point.
