Blog2022 ≫ Found my archive of jeans that I should have thrown away

Was looking for a pair of Rohan trousers I used to have that I thought would be good for this work trip I have to do. Plain looking trousers but super lightweight, easy to pack, won't need an iron etc, and fulfil all my everything-in-all-the-pockets hobbity needs. Did not find the pair I was looking for, but I did find another Rohan pair that are almost the same and might just do the job. They were in a big stack of "I might wear these again one day" clothes, stuff that was too good to get rid of but I could not see myself wearing. It also contained about ten pairs of jeans. Jeans just beyond being reasonably wearable for a man of my age, but might prove to have some value again one day. Each of them I'd stopped wearing just before the point of disintegration, so while they look quite cool now they're not over-the-top like the jeans I used to wear as a teenager. However this means they could shred to nothing with just one more wear or wash. There are a few pairs of Levis in there and a pair of Rohan jeans too. Do they even still make them? Probably not, they wer e nice idea but pretty poor quality, very thin.

All of them also need new pockets. I hope the technology exists one day to be able to fit a set of advanced pockets like I have on my Clothing Arts shorts1 onto any trousers easily. I might take some of these things that need repairing into the local dressmaker type lady and see what she can do. I have been saying that for years though.

I haven't looked at https://www.clothingarts.com since I got my original pair of shorts. I like them a lot, but they are of a certain style, the middle aged man cargo shorts. Also the fly zip has gone in them, so that's another thing that needs a repair. Will I get round to any of this before my grand tour? What the hell shorts am I going to wear on my holiday? Actually I really need these fixed so I'd better pull my finger out.
