Went to London for the day, all went smoothly. I definitely get less done when I'm in the office than when I'm at home. Did not go out after work this time as I had the beetle back waiting for me at the station.
Friday was another busy day, but all good. It was pay day but I'm not making any special purchases just yet. Went out after work but NOT to the Inn Doors, we turned right instead and went into Hythe. First a disappointing pint in a very busy Potting Shed. Next a couple in the White Hart, and they were very good, and we decided we should go there more often. Finally to the Coaching Inn, and though they had no real ale on we said we would not leave it so long next time. Aspendos on the way home for salad and chips in pitta. Then sensibly early to bed as I have parkrun in the morning... no of course not I stayed up too late watching a film, The Batman. It's OK, it is a new take on Batman and the villains Penguin and Riddler and a hint at the Joker, but it is a lot like the TV series Gotham really.
Parkrun went well this morning, if my lace hadn't come undone it would have been a great time. Then back and to Canterbury, mostly just for lunch. We came home and left Clare there shopping, and now I've done the lawn and tidied up the front path a bit.
It's a long weekend isn't it! This is good, except that it probably means the plumber won't get back to me in a hurry. I've spoken to one as we now have two broken taps, one that I can't quite turn off. He's going to send me a quote but I really want someone out asap, without paying emergency call-out rates. In the meantime I'm making do. Stopping it dripping too much by turning the water off completely when I can.
No plans for this evening, I think we will watch another film.
