Last minute change of plans saw the boys go to Grandpa's house today, and Clare was working, so I had the day to myself. Ran on the treadmill for a bit, then did a load of jobs, then cycled in to Hythe to return some overdue library books. Noticed an exciting new wine shop opposite Waitrose. Went in, had some tastings, and bought a couple of bottles. Very nice, and I hope I will return. The owner is Italian and is planning various wine based events.
Also popped in the Potting Shed for one very nice pint, then cycled home in time to collect the boys again.
Last night we took a massive departure and went to a new pub, new to me anyway. The Dog House in Ashford, on a sort of rural estate, and it was good. There was live music and real ale, a nice combo. I had one beer that was off unfortunately, and the place was freezing because of keeping the windows open for ventilation, but apart from that it as really good.
