Blog โ‰ซ 2021 โ‰ซ More car fun

Pay day yesterday, I went to do my regular lunchtime trip to Tesco to get a super discounted meal deal and stock up on treats. But the beetle wouldn't start, would not turn over at all. Luckily Clare was off and was home soon so I was able to take the other car (the proper car). Today I have to charge the battery, without moving the beetle, and it's out on the road. I have the afternoon to myself, I will have to take the battery out, bring it to the house, and charge it here. Surely there's a problem with the battery now? This is twice in a few weeks. The problem is really the car I suppose. If I had a garage to keep it in it would be coping much better I think. Maybe we should convert the playroom back into a garage again...

Clare is working today, one boy is playing with a friend, one is off to a Clip And Climb party at lunchtime. I say I have an afteroon free but with the battery and some washing and ironing and things it will soon go.

No parkrun this morning because of Clare's work, but I did my 5km on the treadmill instead.

Went out last night and had some unfortunately patchy beer. I suggested we go to the Potting Shed, was looking forward to that, but the beer there was not quite right, so we only had one. Then we tried The Bell, and again not to our tastes, not much choice, too cold, a bit Wetherspoonsy on this occasion. Then to The Three Mariners, one pint was good, but we tried one last half of a different beer and it was undrinkable vinegar. Swapped it for the first beer again and had to knock it back quickly as we had a cab booked. I dropped the other two friends off and then went on to The Inn Doors where I had a couple more and saw lots of friends, very nice. Should have just gone here first.

Amid all the gloomy news I am distracted by a gig, a quarter of a century ago. Gene, Tiger, and Divine Comedy, probably one more actually. A radio one thing called Soho Live, I went to several of these in this week. I had not long moved to London.

Just posted on the twitter1 will see if any of the old faces respond.
