Blog โ‰ซ 2021 โ‰ซ Inn Doors opens today, but back to the office soon

Inn Doors is open today! Not sure what time they are open, but I will try and go along there after swimming today. My great fear is I will turn up (having not been in for over six months) and they are full and there is no space for me. Will find out. Will hopefully be going there after work tomorrow anyway. I hope they have got some good beer in.

In other news I got an update from work that they want us back in the office soon. I always knew this was coming and cannot complain, I took this job allowing for the time and cost of commuting and knew we'd have to make a plan for school runs, but I hope we can make it work smoothly. I have not tried to commute since we've had children, and on the odd days I needed to go Clare has been here. Tesco say they want us in the office more often than not, that sounds like a maximum of two days a week at home. I have a review today and will find out more. Think I will hear about any bonus today too which would sugar the pill a bit. It will start in July, which is obviously holidays, does this make it harder or easier? That will be a testing period, see if it works, then by the start of the September school term we will be well established in our new timetable.

Trains all change before then, it could work out nicely, with the option to get a season ticket that works only three days a week. Three days in the office just hits the not-sweet spot currently, where I'd have to take the time to buy daily parking tickets and buy daily multi-part train tickets (a single out, a Network Card single on the way back to collect in London) in order to save only a few quid a week compared to the full season ticket. If the three day season ticket is significantly cheaper that sounds good.

Next month, flexible season tickets will be available for some people who commute two or three times a week.

I might start doing graphs of my time spent sleeping / commuting / working.
