Blog2021 ≫ I've made £8 from my vending machine so far

All the boys' teeth have fallen out, but still. As expected they love the vending machine. It arrived midweek but I had to wait until a day when they'd been good enough to deserve it... I think I would have waited until the weekend anyway, I left it on the dining table, still mostly wrapped in the bubble wrap and told them it was a lamp I'd ordered, and they were not at all curious and carried on gaming and we had our tea. Then I moved it to the lounge and waited for them to take a peek inside the wrapping, and they could not quite believe it. Nice lamp dad!

Clare is not best pleased with it, our house is too small for extra crap like this in it. I think our house is fine, I do need to clear out some of the rubbish, but not this, it's great! I think I'm looking forward to the charity shops reopening nearly as much as the pubs1 as I have so much stuff to drop off and then that'll give me a load more room.

I even threw out some of the stuff I'd been hoarding "just in case" the other day, the old non-smart blinds from the boys rooms and my boots and trainers that were not 100% worn out and would make good backups...

Liking this website2, having a browse of it, it's giving me ideas. I'm going to need something to get me to the station each day when everything opens up and I have to go back to London. If I drive it'll cost me £6 a day in parking, so an electric scooter or bike would pay for itself in no time.

Too busy to post it yesterday but the "gig on this day" was The Cure gig at the Barfly in 2004. Yes you heard that right. Today in 2004 was The Pet Shop Boys at the same venue and tomorrow was The Darkness. Not a bad week of gigs.

Really busy at work this week, I had some extra tasks to do and there seemed to be a lot of meetings, and then I had the start of a regular two hours of training a week. I think I can get a certificate out of this one, though something Microsoft specific.

A week of nice deliveries, I got a box of wine today, so need to find some room for that... also got a delivery from IKEA so I have the first of my shortcut buttons in place. It's next to my place on the sofa, so I sit down, hit the button, and all the lights go off, the lamp behind me lights up to 10% and the one behind Clare a bit brighter. I like very little light when we sit down to watch TV but she likes more. Nice. I got some more bulbs and remotes and PIRs for the hallway and bathrooms, but haven't fitted them yet. I need to work out what to do with the existing light switches. Hard wire them and cover them up? Probably something like this3, in fact I'm ordering them now.

Will there be a day soon when everyone is healthy? After the scare of the boy and Dad, then Rob was ill and now Kez. Hopefully everyone is back in one piece soon.
