Blog2021 ≫ Runuary day eleven

Got up nice and early this morning but it was way too dark to go out, so I made breakfast for the boys, took Clare a cup of tea and sat and did some Duo Lingo. I always do the tea and breakfast, but the Duo Lingo was a nice relaxing sit. I'm on a 180 day streak now, which means I've done at least a couple of practice French lessons every day for the last 180 days. Well sort of means that, when you've done a few and earned some rewards you can buy things like "protect your streak" which allows you to skip a day. I've probably done this about five times.

Anyway, the run, I just did a simple 5km to Hythe and back. After showering I only just made it online in time for work so I might have to be a bit tougher on myself and go out a little earlier. It is getting lighter every day of course though.

This means I'm a third of the way through Dry January doesn't it?

Treated myself to some new shoes from https://www.on-[running](/wiki/#running).com - I can't get in a shop to be measured up and have my gait analysed and so on, so I thought it best to buy the same shoes I already have. They've been great they're just a bit worn down now. I nearly spent a little extra and got some with a big old carbon fibre spring inside them, but they were just a bit too different (heavier, less cushioning) so without trying them on it's too risky.

Sad to hear about Mark Keds. It was only the other day I mentioned The Senseless Things again as it was the thirtieth anniversary of the first time I saw them. The only time I saw them maybe, though I saw and met him at a Jolt gig at the Wedgewood Rooms one time. NME has a picture of him in 20161 and he did not look well then. Just say no kids.

I can't do anything right in the house today, the boys are really going crazy at bed time but if I say anything I just need to lighten up. They've had a good day of home schooling and I don't think they've done any exercise at all that's probably it. Still, when they run about upstairs it really does sound like the ceiling is falling in. They could compromise a bit.

Not sure what to do about thing two's schooling next week. Clare's goin to be back at work, and while I'm working I can't give him the supervision he needs to get on with his home schooling. Clare is a key worker now, and thinks he should go into school. I think he should stay away from school, we should all stay away from other people for now. We're OK with thing one just getting on with his work, but thing two will not manage quite as well without help. We only have a week for Clare to train him up in how to use Zoom and join the online classes by himself...

Am I a hypocrite though? If the Inn Doors opened today, would I go in there..?
