I updated my shopping list as I actually cleared an item... I have ordered some new bunk beds! Well, one new bunk bed. It's one solid beech high sleeper, it was too expensive , more expensive than the carpenter was going to charge to build something to my spec even. However with the carpenter not coming back to me it's all fairly academic, at least I am confident this will get done. There will be some self assembly involved, and it might not be here before christmas, but it's a start.
Still lots left on my list, I'll get there. The other things are a mix of not serious and frighteningly expensive, so I'm doing OK.
got:
I think it is pay day this week, and I've only been there a week and a half. Not sure how much to expect, how much is in arrears etc, but still. Also think we get paid four-weekly which is odd. Still got a lot left of my redundancy pay off so we're doing fine, possibly enough to clear the shopping list above if I were so inclined. I have been splashing the cash a bit recently, more expensive wine, everything the boys ask for in shops we pass etc. This will have to slow down a bit soon. I'm paying more off the mortgage, and buying more premium bonds, and actually not going to the pub at the moment so it's all good.
Taking a short lunch break, have been hard at work in my newly appointed study this morning. I think I will move the bureau back into position later, as it doesn't seem like I'm going to get an electrician to come round and put the new socket in this year. Making do with an extension lead going round the edge of the room for now.
Still have not experimented with the new remote controlled blinds, nor the PIR for the study. Actually I had a very quick go with the PIR and it did nothing, so I will have to have a proper look next weekend. It's meant to be linked to the study lights and turn them on when I come in the room, but I have to find out if that means they are unpaired from the existing remote control... Can these IKEA Tradfri lights be paired to more than one remote at a time..?
