Blog2020 ≫ Potential breakdown disaster

Thing one missed the bus this morning, he ran back to the house having forgotten his phone. When does the backup bus go? We couldn't remember so while he was figuring it out I grabbed my keys and decided to take him to school. Jumped in the beetle still in my pyjamas and drove him there. The car did not breakdown, I have no reason to think it would have done, except that it would be sod's law as then I'd be hanging around in slippers and pyjamas. I did have my phone so could have phoned Clare to relay the boy on to school, but still. Dropped him off at Morrisons instead of outside the school to avoid congestion and more potential embarrassment for him. Because of the pyjamas rather than the beetle. He was still at school before the bus would have got there, I should have just let him get the backup bus.

I've done some some work on the family tree to make it a little more searchable. If you search for a year, say 1972 it will show you the events in the family tree of that year. I only did births and deaths so far, so there are more for other years further back.

Started painting the study yesterday. This is the first painting job that involves a change in colour I've done since we moved in. This room has never been touched, it had patches in the ceiling from where central heating points were added at soime point, and sandy coloured walls. I'm going for "Crown Soft Linen", same as we have in all the other rooms that are not brilliant white... So far I've only done the ceiling (white) and then the edges with a brush. Today I'll get the big roller out and do most of it. It's hard as there are some big things in there that are hard to move. I moved the kids bikes out but still have to clamber over my bike, the sideboard1, beer fridge, and bureau. The desk is still there, though dismantled. No bids on the desk yet2 though someone has offered me £15.

Went running again yesterday as I had to go to the supermarket, so I might take a day off it today. Was thinking of doing a 10k but it's a bit nippy out there.

Meeting friends at 4pm for the pub, nice. One has suggested starting in the Red Lion for some reason, I'm hoping for the Potting Shed and the Inn Doors.

Tomorrow we're going to the library and a third attempt at Tin And Tap.

10k: Ten km, just over six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step count target.
