Blog2020 ≫ First full day of furlough

And I did some work! Well sort of, to the untrained eye it would look exactly like what I do at work. It was just for fun though, fun for me to do, hopefully fun fof rthe kids to make use of later... We were looking for new ways to do learning and I remembered this times table practice quiz1 that I maede for thing one originally, and will now come into its own for thing two. Then I remembered this thing that I made2 that was fairly short lived, but that we can print out to occupy them for a few minutes. I looked into how I wrote it and it is dreadful and needs redoing, so I'm doing that while thinking of how I can adapt it to other purposes. Can we use it to learn more things? I've been writing practice algebra for thing one today, if I can automate that and turn it into a fun quiz we're on to a winner.

That's not all we did though. I mowed the lawn, tidied the study a tiny bit, and made a delicious vegetable casserole in the slow cooker. I had a plan to use up the stalks of the brocolli and cauliflower that you would otherwise throw out, and I did, and it was awesome.

We went to the beach for exercise, and I set the aforementioned schoolwork for the boys. They had plenty of gaming time, but also we watched Steve Backshall's live Q&A on the youtube and then a live science one too with Maddie Moate out of that "how does it work let's find out" that thing two used to love. It is great, they're doing these from their houses. This lockdown has got some good bits.

They did not do the Joe Wicks workout until Clare came in from work. Sounds like there were hiccups with the live feed.

Also walked to Sandgate tonight, just to really make sure that everything is shut. Also I had heard from a friend that some dolphins had been spotted, though I did not see them.

Getting closer to the weekend, though every day is like weekend to me now. Planning a video conference social with some friends tomorrow, hope they remember, then might try the same thing with local friends on Friday.
