Blog2020 ≫ Parkrun is still on

Up early to do parkrun today, my first one since the cataracts operation. Am up a bit too early really as there's not much for me to do. Thing one is out at a sleepover and thing two is still quiet, so no breakfast to make. Got my bike out and checked all my kit, and luckily the rain has just stopped. They've had absolute stinkers weatherwise the past few weeks.

Hoping this will be the first one where my time gets posted automatically to our Slack channel, I wrote that integration about six weeks ago and it has not been tested yet.

Parkruns around the world are cancelled, but not in the UK yet. Will see how it affects turnout. UK has 798 coronavirus cases, 11 deaths and 18 recoveries. How accurate can these figures be though, as no-one is being tested?

Went to the Inn Doors last night, and while not heaving, it was busy enough. Tore myself away at ten though there were still friends trying to convince me to stay, which is lovely.

Got the expected update from work yesterday, new measures introduced to face the hardship caused by no-one travelling at the moment. No redundancies yet but no profit share either, so next months pay will be lighter than usual.

After parkrun, off to collect my hop plant, then swimming, then to the book shop. It would be sensible to tighten belts right now, but I do have a holiday budget that seems unlikely to get used now.
