Blog2020 ≫ I thought this week off was going to be a proper skive...

Hmm eye is hurting a bit today now the anaesthetic has worn off. Not hurting badly but just feels like my eye has been prodded about a bit. I have eye drops to put in four times a day and will be doing a lot of sitting I think. I thought it was going to be easier than this and the days off were an unnecessary indulgence but it looks like I will appreciate it.

I walked the boys to school and got some "are you ok?" type questions. I think people think I've been beaten up, because my eye looks a bit knocked about, but it's also made worse by marks left by the surgical tape, and the mark left from the big X drawn above it. I can't wash this off yet as I'm supposed to keep soap away from my eye for a few days. I can't wash my hair so it's a bit greasy, adding to the overall look. On top of this I'm still limping from my running injury, though that is recovering fast.

Going to watch a load of TV today. I started with BBC daytime news, and it's rubbish! They're just reading out what is trending on twitter, this is very low quality. I think they're just trying to find some light hearted stuff when the main news is taken up by the terrorist knife attack in Streatham.

TV watching does seem to be fixed, I can see the TV out of my left eye now! Watching at night in the dark will be the real test, and driving in the dark too. I don't think there is a difference between my two eyes at the moment, but I'll really be able to test this when my left eye has settled down a bit.
