Blog2020 ≫ Cataracts operation recovery day three

When did I last take such a long break from the computer? Bizarre!

I have at least caught up with a lot of sitting while on a recovery week off from my cataracts operation, and plenty of TV. I watched Thor, surprised to find that was directed by Kenneth Branagh. It's OK but as expected not my favourite of the Marvel films. I also finished Confession, Beneath The Surface, saw a Gotham that I'd missed and finally watched the rest of the Great South Run.

The eye is OK, it feels a bit swollen and odd but I can see out of it just fine. Before the op my TV watching was properly spoiled by the multiple images in my left eye and now it's all good again.

I went out for a walk yesterday and have done a couple of school runs but am certainly not as active as I was the week before. I went in the hardware shop in Hythe and they had the things I'd struggled to find in stock in Toolstation and Screwfix. They even had the light bulb adapter out on the counter as I walked in, WEIRD.

I did go to the pub yesterday too, i'm never going to keep up with febrewery if I don't... I tried The Globe Inn in Hythe, and it's proper old fashioned. Odd place but very pleasant. A noisy couple at the bar spouting off, apart from that only one other customer. It's a Shepherd Neame but I had a good pint of Bishop's Finger. So that's pint four, only pub two, and it's day five already. I'm going out again today, to Toolstation probably to get more light fittings. I could and should take the opportunity to go to a pub further afield, maybe a pint with lunch?

My home automation has been a bit wrong for a couple of days, the lamp in our room came on at 6am again today. I checked the calendar etc and everything looked good. The problem was the clock was wrong on the computer. Fixed now!

The boys are enjoying the new colour changing lightbulbs. I am going to get some more for their room.
