Blog2020 ≫ Runuary / Dryanuary is done and so am I

DROVE to the Inn Doors last night for definitely the first time, and probably the last time. Did not fancy walking with my running injury, Clare was going to drive me there, then we realised I could drive. Not drinking, see? Had a nice couple of hours in there though everyone was saying "shut up, have a drink" and also "are you celebrating brexit today". No, no I'm not celebrating.

We finished Vienna Blood then I watch The Last Leg. I did foolishly sit up until midnight so I could technically have a drink. I had a cider, and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be after a month's wait.

No parkrun today as we had to be in Ashford for the cataracts consultation. They had to give me A LOT of warnings about what could go wrong, there is approximately a 1/1000 chance I will be blinded during my op tomorrow. Also sprung on me at the last minute, I could go private for about £6k and might not need glasses after. Could I have done this through work? I should have done this all along... Still, by lunchtime tomorrow it will be all over bar the recovery. No work for a week, and no exercising for three, though I could drive again same day it seems. I've done some work today, just to get things in a nice order for while I'm away. Really to be controlling though, I don't want this job left for someone else to finish I want it to be all me...

My leg / bum muscle is still hurting today, is a little better though, it will recover. I a still limping around like I have soiled myself at the moment though.

Weather nicer today, sunny, high 11°, low 6° as I write this. Clare has been running, but not me not for a while now...

IKEA lightbulbs arrived today, but I can't get all the adapters I need locally. So I have two colour changers in the lounge, but not the third that I really need. Also I need two adapters for the bedroom lights, so we can have colour changing there, and I still don't have the blanking plates to block off the old light switches yet. Will try and order some online this week.

Going to the pub in a bit, otherwise I'll never get through my Febrewery challenge. There is rugby on at the Inn Doors, so I can have a couple of hours there. Then home for a night of telly while my eyes still work, as Clare is going out.

5k: Five km, just over three miles to you.
