Blog2020 ≫ I'm back into Screwfix again

Picked up the catalogue while I was there getting those wago connectors, and just about restrained myself from buying a replacement USB charging socket. I stopped because it would be another twenty quid, and it's not pay day until the end of the week. However glad I did as this looks like the best deal for me1. I have rushed into sockets in the past because of the number of USB points and how they look, but quantity is not the best measure here, nor is the shininess. This one has one USB A (what I need) and one USB C (what Clare needs and one of the boys tablets needs) and a high current. As long as you only plug one in at a time. This means fast charging and I think it means being able to charge my laptop while at home too, without having to carry power supply back and forth.

Also this is neat for 99p2 turn that socket where you always leave your phone plugged in into a little shelf to get it off the floor. I'm going to get a couple of these, and I'm probably going to move back to white sockets instead of my mismatch of different shiney steel versions.

ALSO, one last thing this is interesting3 a wifi extender built into a socket. Though we don't actually need one.
