Blog2020 ≫ Dry-vegan-runuary day twenty-six

I did some more work on the bedroom lights Sunday morning while Clare was out at pump class. I disconnected the power and took the whole fitting down so as to put another couple of screws in, to hold it flush to the ceiling. Then I replaced all the temporary GU10 bulbs with the new IKEA Tradfri smart GU10s and registered them all, so we have a fully smart colour changing light fitting. It is still wired to the switch at the wall, which I don't want, but I will try and replace that switch this week so that it keeps working as we would both like it. Maybe another IKEA order on the way! Well it will be profit share pay day...

After that I did a 10k run1, so completing runuary for the day. Any time I'm feeling pleased with my achievements I just have to look at Strava, as one of my running chums did 30k the same day. My 10k was my fastest yet it seems and did involve a big hill, so if I do a 10k on the flat I should fly along. I should put in a few more of these in practice for the Folkestone 10 mile race2 at the next bank holiday.

After exercise we walked to Orchard Lane, though this time I only had the one cake. Very good, also I did not have a takeaway from Nine Dragons this week, though Clare tried to talk me into it. We finished the Norwegian crime drama Wisting instead of what we planned to watch in the iplayer, as the internets were messing about. I think it was me changing my https://pi-hole.net settings so as not to have duplicate pi-holes in the house (it blocks ads and is meant to speed things up). I thought I had to have two but just one is fine.

Now a normal Monday workday, chickenbox-boy is back to school, and I have a PTA meeting tonight.

Oh Jim's replacement Nespresso machine should be coming today, at least a temporary courtesy replacement that we will not use while they investigate the bug with the old one. And my parkrun 50 t-shirt is arriving today too!

10k: Ten km, just over six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step-count target.

runuary: Running at least 5k every day for the month of January.
