Sonos are stopping some of their old kit working1. My new soundbar is Sonos, and so are my IKEA speakers. I think it'll be a while before they do this to the kit I have, if they ever do. But worth thinking about this sort of behaviour before you buy new kit.
Everything I've bought from Sony has had this problem really, especially our bedroom TV. It's not exactly bricked now, but all the smart features stopped working and can't be updated. It long moved out of the bedroom, it is a monitor in front of the treadmill these days. And don't even talk to me about my old minidisc players...
My new IKEA Tradfri light arrived yesterday, so looking forward to installing that at the weekend.
