Blog ≫ 2019 ≫ Oh how I long for the last working day of the decade

So pretty much farewell then the 2010s, we hardly knew you. You didn't even have a real name, "the 10s" was never used. We went from the 90s, to the nougties, to the um, wait for a bit, hooray we in the 20s! Maybe they should have been called the twenteens? Future historians will judge me here.

Working from home today, down in the basement as there is a racket upstairs. It's a normal work day for me, and I would usually go in on a Tuesday, but my bit of the office is closed. Also there are not many other people around. There are perhaps six in our team today who are not on holiday, one is working from Portugal, one from London and at least one other from home. Also I was disturbed by work on Saturday, and though luckily turned out to be a non-issue I can take back an hour from that. Then also haven't started the beetle in a week so is unlikely to start nicely!

Clare asked me to work downstairs rather than up at the table so I'm not shouting at them to be quiet all day. I was not down here ten minutes before I hear her screaming at them, she's out of patience already.

They're maybe off to Click And Climb in Dover today. The boys asked yesterday but I said wait until we can all go. They did not wait.

Chilli for tea tonight, all eating together! Then I'm going off to the Inn Doors at some point. Hoping to stay until next year but that means not going out too early. Should be several friends in there.

I did not actually drink yesterday, and not just because there was nothing in the house I really wanted. I could have made do, especially finishing up some of the odd beers from Clare's Brewdog calendar, but did not. Now where is my medal? Here is my drinking schedule for the week, starting last Saturday:

Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
too much too much none some none none none? it is an Inn Doors day, are you sure? πŸ™€πŸ™€πŸ™€

Hmm maybe I could do more of these automated tables, maybe it would be better than the SVG infographic thing, and the pie chart? Maybe combine with some nice scrawly graphics? A little project for the next decade maybe...

Happy New Year if I don't speak to you again before then!
