Blog2019 ≫ Looks a nice day out today

Sky is blue and the trees don't see to be waving about from where I'm sitting. No rain yet though it's supposed to be wet over the holiday period. We have had an amazing amount of rain the past few days, though the flood defences and drainage seems to have just about coped with it.

Clare has taken the boys to put flowers on her mum's grave today, so glad at least the weather will not make that more miserable.

It's still not feeling very festive around here. Clare has done most of the wrapping, nearly all in fact. Think there is just one more thing to do. Then tomorrow ought to be a quiet day together. Might see if we can do even more clearing out of stuff, though we are unlikely to be getting anything actually out of the house. Might be nice if we could all take a walk into Hythe or something, and drop off any charity shop stuff as we go. Have cleared out a lot of books and games and things already, in preparation of a fresh assault.

Enjoyed the new Christmas Carol last night on the BBC, a fresh and gritty take on a far too familiar tale.
