Did parkrun this morning, though the weather was looking pretty hairy. So much rain in the night, we've had a lot of rain for several days now. Would the weather ever be bad enough that they'd cancel it? They did not cancel it today. I drove instead of cycling there today, a bit because of the wind and rain, but mostly because I had a bag of food for the food bank collection. Today was the annual "tinsel run" where runners dress up, and they also collect food for charity.
Everyone was sheltering around the Leas Cliff Hall before the run, but the rain actually stopped just in time. Was still windy though and some big puddles to jump over. These conditions, plus running in a christmas jumper, and the merest hint of hangover meant a time of 22'25. My Fitbit has it that I only ran 3.9km though. New watch should arrive on Tuesday... Rain got worse again after the run, I think we were lucky really.
I got out of work a little early yesterday and straight to the Inn Doors. I only had a couple of hours there, then back home so Clare could go out to her cousin's party.
Today we found a gap in the weather and went in to Folkestone. We wanted something like a christmas market, to feel festive and have a mulled wine. Folkestone had something like a christmas market, at least it had mulled wine. Then the sky fell in again, water was flowing like a stream down the high street. We went to Luben for lunch and it was very good. Bit extravagant for a lunch, but it was very nice. We even had starters today, a vegan meatball skillett, which was nearly enough for lunch on it's own, and some spicy broccoli and kale.
I'm going to make some sandwiches in the George Foreman grill tonight. I got meatballs in sauce for the boys, going to try and recreate something like Subway. I have some vegan cheese for me and will grill some veges. Also in Asda sprouts were only 20p for a bag, so having some of them too.
5k: Five kilometres, about three miles to you.
