BBC says there is £400 million quid sat unused on oyster cards, an average of £3.46 per card unused. Plus there was a £5 deposit for the oyster card that I had forgotten about.

I'm using an oyster card as a bookmark, time to sort that out!
UPDATE: I tried this when we went to London in August 2020, there is somehow money owing on my oyster card, I am overdrawn. Only by £2 or so but I don't think it's worth risking that £2 to hopefully get back a deposit, which I might have already had back anyway. So consider this todo, todone!
