Blog2019 ≫ 2km treadmill challenge was harder than it should have been

Hmm, either the treadmill is faulty, or running on a treadmill is much harder, or we're all much lazier today. Both boys tried the 2km treadmill challenge, to replace today's junior parkrun. If they can beat last week's parkrun time on the treadmill then they can have extra Nintendo Switch time as a reward. Both dropped out of the challenge after only 1km and could not keep up anywhere near the necessary pace. So were we really running a mile rather than a kilometre?

I had a go and did 2km in 10'19 and am sweating like a pig. This is slower than my normal outdoor time, and I would not be sweating either. It's much to quick for two miles though, so I guess the treadmill is correct, and running indoors is just much harder.

Shocking weather outside still but I think I will have to go out in it later.

Clare is still at pump class, I am rocking out to loud music on my new Sonos setup.
