Blog2019 ≫ The Walking Dead series one done

Had a mini-marathon of The Walking Dead last night after swimming, and after the boys had gone to bed. Yes we can still play DVDs via Clare's laptop, though had some updates to do on that. HDMI output was a little dodgy on the old laptop but I made it work. Quite liked Walking Dead, not sure if I should watch any more. Will it really get better?

I let thing one take the Nintendo Switch to swimming and made a mobile hotspot on my phone so he could play Fortnite, probably a mistake in terms of my data usage. We have relented recently to let him play it on his own. We got him to play it with us a few times and it seems relatively harmless. We turned off all the options for chat and things, so now he's just killing anonymous strangers. I'm sure it's fine. It's actually a good game, I've played a couple of times.

Worked from home all day today, pairing remotely with a colleague in Wales which made a change. Did an 8k run at lunch1 and two school runs so I am fully exercised for the day, but about to wrap up work for the day and might go out with the boys. Thing one was keen, and now his computer time is up. Thing two not keen, he is quite lazy. They have done PE today though and both did a mile run apparently. Good practice for junior parkrun on Sunday. I might get them to do a practice run tomorrow, see if they can cover that distance, see if it's worth showing up

Also need to go to town tomorrow, thing one possibly needs new trainers, and wants a new school hoodie. Will see about both of those, this morning he said the trainers were too small but by the end of the day they were ok. The hoodie is just because we have one school zip up hoodie and he wants that style instead of the pullover.

Enjoying the You're Dead To Me podcast from the BBC, a new history show with added comedy.

Spoke to Clare, the wedding is lovely.

UPDATE: we did walk to Sandgate and back, to buy sweets. So another fully stepped day.
