Blog2019 ≫ I thought Friday was an epic day of exercise

Saturday was ENORMOUS! I started with a good parkrun, a new record time for me1 and now only four seconds off Jules' record. It is in my sights now...

After parkrun to meet Clare and pick up thing two. Thing one was sitting the Shepway test at this time, and it seems it went ok. We have a month to wait for the result.

Thing two and I then went swimming, though I forgot his goggles so we didn't really swim that much. Then from there to pick up some lunch things and home to eat. Then time for the third leg of my modern triathlon I'd be attempting today. After running and swimming, what next? Ah of course a beer festival!

I walked with Sean to Unit Number One, and it seems a lot further on foot than it does on the bike. Still some good exercise, we earned our pints by the time we got there. It was quite a nice event, three food stalls on and a new temporary ale and cider bar, so quick to get served. Everyone serving seemed to be a small child though, who weren't that informed about the beers. Apart from that, we enjoyed. The music was good too, a solo singer with guitar who was good. He's been on X-Factor apparently, but I don't know his name. Possibly Tommy Ludford? A quick search says yes that's him.

After about four pints and some vegan nachos we walked back, stopping in the Three Mariners for one, and then the Clarendon for just one too many. I was home by eight o'clock and instantly fell asleep on the sofar. I slept well! Partly the booze but partly the epic 38,000 steps I did. A new record step count for me.

Today I did lots of cleaning, while Clare was at pump class. I achieved the epic task of finally cleaning the red wine spillage off the wall behind the table. This has been there for months now with me thinking "I must paint over this". I tried bleach in the end and it was a good job.

After lunch we all went back to Unit Number One again. I walked part of the way this time, then they picked me up. This time was Clare's turn to drink, so I drove the rest of the way there and back. We thought about feeding the boys there but they weren't hungry at the right time, so we're having a spontaneous Chameleon bar and grill in a few minutes.

We bumped into the guy who built the new houses at the end of our road and he's going to give us some advice on the house extension. So we might finally get moving on that!
