Blog2019 ≫ Running the long way to the pub

Sunday lunchtime the boys were at Hyperspace lasertag1 with some school friends. It's the sort of place they'd go for a birthday party but this was just because someone had spotted a good deal, three games for the price of two. They had a great time there, so we should go again. They were both very enthusiastic even though they got annihiliated by bigger kids.

After this I was free for the afternoon. Had an idea to try a longer run, as I'm sure I can do it, I just don't usually have the time. With an hour free could I do 10k? Turns out no, I couldn't. I did pretty well I think2 running 8.5km around Hythe and back to Sandgate, but as soon as I got within sight of the Inn Doors, and suspecting friends would be in there, I stopped. Next time I need to run when it's not open. Friends were in there so I had a great few hours, before going home for dinner.

Working from home today, but excitingly expecting my IKEA delivery in the next hour.

5k: Five kilometres, about three miles in old money.

10k: Ten km, about six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step-count target.
