Blog2019 ≫ Pasta Wednesday

Tuesday is "pasta Tuesday", as a cow-orker calls it, as I always bring leftover arrabiata for my lunch. I slept well yesterday and was up early, up first in fact, and even though I packed yesterday's pasta in my workbag I then thought "I've got time to make lunch today" and made myself sandwiches. Could be dementia setting in. So sandwiches today, and pasta in the work fridge left for today. Undoubtedly I will forget again, but have set myself a calendar reminder. I only have about half an hour to keep this in my head now and not walk to the shop to buy something...

Slept quite well again last night, woke up quite easily anyway. The boys thought they were going straight on their new Nintendo Switch game after breakfast, but were soon disabused of that notion. Revision and tidying and making some dinner first! They're doing another meal inspired by The Week Junior, this week is some sort of schnitzel. So not for me.

The game we got came with a year's subscription to Nintendo Switch online, I think it was a mistake. However this gives them access to old NES games all year and the option to play online versions of the games they have. Yes they will be competing with other players over the internet, but it's a lot nicer on the Nintendo Switch, none of the shouting and swearing over headsets that you seem to get with the other consoles. They can only play and compete and only send each other messages from a pre-approved no-danger-of-bullying-or-inappropriate-chat list, stuff like "good game" and "race again?" and things.
