Gig last night was better than expected, surprised by how many Blockheads songs I know. The new singer was a friend of Ian Dury, and sounded a lot like him, though he looks like Roy Wood out of Wizzard. Dover micropub The Lanes was also good when we eventually got there.

Original plan to head there on the train at five or before went out of the window when Sean had to work, so would be running late. Then Alwyn had had a heavy night the night before so decided to drive, but couldn't leave until half six. I agreed to meet him in The Fountain, was very quiet in there, an no ale on. Then Sean phoned to say he could be there for seven so we waited a bit longer, and got to The Lanes for half seven ish. Two pints of cider and on to the gig.

UPDATE: I thought they said "This is Topper Headon", though Sean said no, they had said "this guy is our Topper Headon". It was him, he lives locally1.
