Blog2018 ≫ Thursday night beer festival

I did go to the Chambers Easter Ales Festival in the end, and it was good. Was working from home but could not go out too early as I had to wait for Clare to come back in. Had my tea and headed off to the Inn Doors for one and to meet my Sean, regular Friday night buddy. Then we both headed up to Folkestone. Weather was fairly foul that day but had settled down by the time we wanted to go so we walked up. Met Jeff in Chambers and we all had a few halves trying the different beers on offer. Was quite a good range of beers, sixteen on the list, one or two not available that day but enough for us. The cider was a different matter, it was all Merry Moon wacky flavours, not my cup of tea at all. Entertainment was good, we left before the main act but the support was one solo guy on guitar and some kind of tape backing, he did a really good version of Iron Maiden's The Trooper. Hmm maybe they were all songs that were also the names of beers, I did not notice.

We left there at a sensible time but then called in at the Inn Doors for one on the way back, so I did get my cider in the end. Still a reasonably early finish, ready for the drive to Portchester the next day.
