Blog2017 ≫ Legoland day two

Another placeholder, day two of our trip to Legoland had much better weather, but we didn't stay as long. Not much more in the way of queueing, still a regular school day for most people, but the boys were more tired this day.

We revisited some rides today, and tried some new ones. First one was probably raft racers, a wet ride. Number two son kept going on about the wet rides, how he was going to enjoy them the most. This is where two small inflatable boats race down a long waterslide together. We had to go one at a time on this as Clare was not up to it, you have to have two in a boat, and there were no other single riders we could join with. Was OK though, number one waited at the top while I went down with number two and Clare filmed us, then I dropped the grain with the fox and ran back to the top to race down again with the chicken. A bit too much of a faff to have more goes but this was probably my favourite ride of the trip. Even though you do get a wet bum.

Weather was a lot nicer so the boys wanted to go in the splash park too. We had our swimmers, and got changed (yeah out of my wet shorts and into my dry trunks, didn't think that one through) but found the main one wasn't open yet. Little one was happy with the little splash park, then after a while the big park opened so both went in. Was not really warm enough for this so they both started shivering soon and we had to get changed again.

We went on the Ninjago ride again, still not really any queueing. Did not match my high score from the previous day. Shame lots of the Ninjago section is just not complete yet, or is broken already.

We did try for some swinging roundabout type ride, which then broke down when we got there. Quite a lot of the park was a bit broken really.

Food concessions are too expensive here, to be expected I suppose when you are absolutely a captive audience. I reiterate BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. Last thing we did was buy drinks and doughnuts before leaving.

Drive home was fine, quite fast, despite us starting to hit rush hour.

A good trip but I would not rush back to Legoland again, think that one is done now. We'd be unlikely to hit it as queue free again, we were "lucky" with the initially bad weather coinciding with a teacher training day. I'm sure if we went again it would be queue-tastic and then I'd feel really hard done by.
