⬆️Friday trip to Gun Wharf

This is a John Lewis in Southsea, hard to see how it survives, it's so quiet. An old fashioned department store vibe, quieter than a normal John Lewis. Still a lovely shopping experience. Clare bought be some sunglasses, my old Ray-bans that I got in Key West are too scratched now, I've dropped them too many times. So got some new ones from Oakley, an indulgent purchase for me. However it is my birthday coming up and I never want anything so if anyone asks Clare is going to say "why don't you chip in on these sunnies?". If no-one does she can get them for me!

Hard working buying these, it took ages for the assistant to actually do it. Seems like they don't actually sell much, there should be someone else whose job it is to do this, it's a concession within the store, the other assistants struggled with this.

It was briefly looking in the Oakley store at the entrance to Gunwharf that gave me the idea to get these, but they were nicely cheaper in the department store with the discount, and the case came free too.

I'm going to save them for my holiday, as that coincides with the birthday, birthday happens midway through the holiday. I'll try not to wear them until the start of the trip. This pair I've chosen came in at just under a hundred quid, cheaper than the ones they are replacing, but still a similar wraparound style 1.

We tried to buy things for Clare too but didn't find anything.

  1. Originally this was a hidden comment, I don't usually talk about holiday dates before it happens in case anyone robs us.
