Had an action packed Saturday, went to Tenterden, not at ten to ten but about 11am. It's been really hot the last few days but it started out strangely dark on Saturday. A storm brewing. Of course it always rains when we go to Tenterden, no matter how nice it is elsewhere. Apparently they had an amazing storm in Hampshire in the early hours, woke everyone up, so we thought maybe it was on the ay here. It cleared quite quickly though so was clear again by the time we got there.

First swimming, bit cold really in the fun pool there so we didn't loiter. Got a few rides in on the slide, plus some fun on the floating rafts, the boys had a whale of a time. Number one is great at swimming, mostly underwater, number two is fearless and doesn't realise yet that he cannot swim. After the pool we went to the park to play while Clare went back to the car to take the wet swimming things back. We did not park at the leisure centre this day, instead tried nearby parking in a residential street. We weren't too far from the park, think we got a bit lucky with a space. Were sure we were going to end up with a ticket as there was a "no waiting" sign at the entrance to this street, but we were good. Will try this again. Parking at the leisure centre is great, you get it refunded from the price of your swimming, but (I think) it's limited to four hours, and we need a bit more of that to cover, swimming, the park, lunch, and shopping.

Park was fun, number one mostly wants to go on the "zip wire" type thing and both like the outdoor exercise equipment.

Lunch was at Prezzo, Clare's treat as it's just before pay day for me but just after pay day for her. It's a really nice venue in Tenterden, usually it's busy but today most people were say outside so it felt quiet inside.

After we shopped a little, charity shops mostly. Number one bought an overcomplicated game and I bought an armfull of CDs and DVDs. Bit of a whim, because they were so cheap, 25p a go so I took a chance on some. Have ripped them to listen to later and have put them in the pile to go back to the charity shop again. That's OK isn't it?

Drove home the non-motorway way, via New Romney and Dymchurch, both were busy.

Went to The Fountain on the way home, their cider festival is on this weekend. The boys had fun playing in the garden, then home, and to bed.

I don't post so much these days, is this fizzling out at long last? Shouldn't be, I have two foreign excursions coming up over the next few months and plenty of other exciting things to mention I'm sure.
