Blog2017 ≫ Term-time holiday dad loses his high court battle

Gah this was looking like really shaking things up, but the supreme court has ruled against the dad. It would be very disruptive I can see that but I think we ought to be able decide, if we've got otherwise 100% attendance and a genius child (as we do) then what's the point of these fines?

We're taking number one son out of school for a day, the last day of term. It's by our incompetence though, it doesn't save us any money as the whole holiday is in the school holiday so costing a fortune anyway. Now we probably have to factor another 60 fine on top, even though the other kids in school will be watching a film and having a picnic that day.
