Blog2017 ≫ Thick frost on the car this morning

I went out and defrosted, but a bit too early, so it'd frozen again by the time I went to work. Properly cold overnight, cold enough to make the heating kick in during the time it should have been off so it must have dropped below Nest's minimum allowable temperature of nine degrees... I woke up a few times I think but have slept better the last few days than I thought I might, what with about two weeks of heavy drinking in the lead up to christmas and then cold turkey for the last couple of days. It's going well so far, let's see what the weekend brings.

The cold is making me ache I think. Will still be going out for a lunchtime walk to get my step count, I have hit my 10k target the past three days and done five days out of the past seven. The other two were only just under. I'm ahead of the game as I walked thing one to school today. Might be slipping and sliding at lunchtime though particularly if I take the shady walk to Westenhanger.

Heard a few people talking about their step count and waving new brightly coloured wristbands about. Will they keep it up all year like what I done did though eh?

Here's what my own monitoring says the temperature is doing, it does tend to go a bit odd around midday but the rest is ok:

At some point my home brew beer graph would have appeared here. I haven't done home brew for ages, it doesn't quite seem worthwhile, but maybe in times of austerity it will return.

Ah possibly the change of year has caused my temperature monitor to break. It won't be the leap second bug, just the change of year, I'll take a look when I get in and that graph up above should be magically fixed...

First day back at work of the new year. Somebody somewhere in the UK won 26 million quid on the lottery, it was not me. Still as always been planning out how I would spend that sort of money. I did not buy a ticket in that actual draw even, but I did get a ticket christmas eve. And we won! Two numbers, so I get another free lucky dip I think. This could be the one...

10k: Ten km, about six miles in old money. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step count target.

💬 Fixed the graph up above
