Blog ≫ 2016 ≫ GREAT day out in Portsmouth

A lot of travelling but worth it, so good to catch up with so many friends. Had a great day and nightaround and about Albert Road in Southsea.

Let the train take the strain. Got the fast train to St Pancras and the tube from there across to Leicester Square and then on to Waterloo for Portsmouth. Slight delay at Kings Cross underground, was really busy so they closed the barriers to stop people getting on to the platform. Thought this might mess up my journey and considered getting a bus instead for a bit but it opened up again. I was travelling with no luggage at all, really light for this weekend just a few things in my pockets. Would have been more of a hassle getting across town on a crowded tube if I'd had a bag, but mainly I didn't want to be carrying things round and risk losing them on our planned pub crawl. Worked out pretty well, might have been packed a little better if I had a Scott E Vest instead of stuffing it all in the pockets of my big coat, but maybe then I'd not have packed so efficiently. I'll do it differently next time. Didn't need to take a book with me, didn't read it, I listened to podcasts instead. Also I brought the wrong charger so thought for a while I wasn't going to be able to charge my phone, but cobbled something together.

At some point Richy pointed out that I've been thinking about a scott e vest for about ten years now but still have not bought one.

Anyway enough boring details about my packing and journey, on to the boring details about the different places we went! They'll probably appear in the wrong order, maybe I can sort that out later...

πŸ’¬ Started off our pub crawl not in a pub

πŸ’¬ Headed to Gin and Olive - but no-one there

πŸ’¬ First stop proper - the Victoria and Albert

πŸ’¬ Stop four, pub two, drink? Anyway The Vaults

πŸ’¬ Next stop, confused, was it The Kings?

πŸ’¬ Prosecco in Little Johnny Russell's

πŸ’¬ The most interesting bar of the night was a shop

πŸ’¬ Now it's starting to get hazier

πŸ’¬ We went to Rosie's Vineyard

πŸ’¬ We ate in Lin's Thai Cafe
