Blog2016 ≫ Dreamland was quiet yesterday

Took the boys to Dreamland in Margate yesterday. Mostly because we have Nelson this week, and Number one son has to keep a photo diary of all the things the class chimp has done. Certainly not because of the boys exemplary behaviour. It's an hour's drive there, no problems though. Thought Dreamland might be busy as the cheaper 5 carpark next door was full, but the main one was not busy, and so neither was the park. Bought wristbands for Clare and the boys but did not pay anything for myself, no plans to go on any of the rides, I was just carrying the bags today. They all had a lovely time and we got some good pictures I think. About half of Dreamland is not operation I would say, the scenic railway still not, at least two other of the big rides not (though we'd not have gone on them), the lockers still broken, one of the toilets out of action, the vintage arcade was missing. It is in administration of course, and its the end of the season, but it really feels like they're not bothering. Service in the two food places we tried was very very slow, I gave up on my chips, but some of the other service aspects were great, people were really helpful and nice. The boys like the normal arcade a lot, throwing money away, winning tokens, exchanging the tokens for sweets, they were happy with that.

We didn't stay right to the end but came back a little later than I'd planned. Clare made fajitas for dinner and they were ace.
