Two nights out in a row, two proper ticketed events, at the same venue, what patrons of the arts we are. Jon Richardson last night, the little one off Eight Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown, at least that's where we mostly know him from. He was doing a work in progress, some final preparation for his proper tour. He did a little intro, then had a support Danny Buckler who did observational comedy, singing, and even magic. Proper Saturday night entertainment. Then an interval, and we bumped into some friends from school in the bar. They'd turned up a bit late and not been allowed in for the first half. Then Jon Richardson's proper set. Very funny, when he properly got into the flow of it it was hilarious. On paper some of it is comedy that I don't really like and would sneer at, stuff about how his wife doesn't load the dishwasher properly, but I still laughed and laughed. Some of it was a bit chaotic, and he's really really self deprecating about that, but he's so likeable. Very funny, really pleased we went.
We drove in, left the beetle parked on the road again so have to go back and pick it up. Yesterday I walked in, so got a good number of steps. Suddenly realised during the evening my fitbit had fallen off! I hope it's in the beetle, it's done this before and each time I've found it on the car seat. But if it fell off between there and the venue, I'll be sad. Will likely be a big break in my so far unbroken step count record1. We're going to check on the car on our way out today, if it's there I might just be able to recover without a gap, if I can charge it in the car on our way to a fun day out today...
