These days I post most of my thoughts on Slack instead of here, we have a channel there with a few friends that we dip into throughout the day. I know there I'm only ever posting an interesting link or tale about my day to eight or so people, but I suspect that is more than are ever likely to see them here. Still here are some things from there this week that I can share, and save here for posterity.
On the shorts front I have not found my ideal pair but have bought these as an interim measure1 until I gee myself up to spend the proper money and order these2 and these others3 from the usa.
I got another quote for the boiler have trimmed it down slightly and gone for a combi boiler but it still comes in at 4.5k. Can trim a bit more if we risk damaging the ridge tiles on the roof and if I don't go for a Nest (or Nest style) thermostat.
Got up early yesterday morning to sign thing one up for another class of gymnastics. They've started opening the booking even earlier now. I got there about ten to seven and the queue was already moving, previously they didn't open the desk until 7.30. Still got in, but if word goes around I might have to get there earlier... Next sign up is in another seven weeks.
Aldi are introducing a range of craft beers. What is craft beer anyway? That definition is going to kill off real ale eventually I think.
Every bank holiday I get emailed this offer for an in wall amplifier and speakers4. Every time I am tempted, every time I think "maybe next time", it's been going on for years. I would like some concealed audio about the place, maybe the bathroom, maybe having it play rainforest noises when I go in there. Maybe that's a bit decadent though.
Lie in today, even though hopefully going to cider festival at The Fountain at some point today or tonight (or both). This means I will be up first tomorrow despite being in the pub drinking cider tonight. Clare is working today so fair that she gets a lie in tomorrow.
Few chores to do today but not much, then off to Follies when Clare finishes work for pizza. Thing two wants to make a messy picture, something he's seen on Mister Maker, and we will do some practice bike riding too.
