Blog2016 ≫ Twenty years ago today I was at The Godfathers valentines day massacre

I had booked three weeks of holiday at this time, when I was half planning to do a big trip to Australia or USA, but didn't actually get round to it. So instead I tried to fit in a gig every day, and travelled around the UK a bit. This is one of the only gigs of this time that I can actually place. I went to London for a couple of days and slept in my VW camper. I parked it up at Clapham South I think as there ws free on street parking near there, and got the tube in each day.

I only knew one Godfathers song of old, Birth, School, Work, Death from the early days of the Evening Session so took a punt on this.

Support was from The Changing Man, I had an idea it was going to be a secret Paul Weller show. But no.

I also saw MN8 doing a show in a record shop on this trip, maybe this day too. "I've Got A Little Something For You", apparently.
